Liebster Award

A great big thank you to Khloe at faburlifekhloe for nominating me for a Liebster award! I’ve only been blogging here for a few months, so I was surprised and very happy that someone had read and enjoyed my blog enough to nominate me!

The rules of the Liebster award are these:

– post the award on your blog

– thank the blogger who presented this award, and link to their blog

– write 11 random facts about yourself

– nominate 11 bloggers who you feel deserve this award and who have less than 200 followers

– answer 11 questions posted by the presenter, and ask your nominees 11 questions

I figured that this post was going to get quite long, so I thought why not leave the 11 random facts about me for another post? So I’ll be doing that within the next few days, and I’ll link back to this post and Khloe’s blog so I’m still within the rules (hopefully)!!

Okay, so here are my 11 questions answered:

1. What do you like to do in your spare time?

At the moment, I don’t get a lot of spare because my university work schedule is insane. When I’m at home, I like to practice my writing, do a bit of baking, and take the opportunity to read novels which get put to one side whilst I’m concentrating on academic work. I also love having lazy days on the sofa with TV and films, especially during autumn/winter time, and to counteract that I like getting out and playing hockey for my team at the weekends!

2. If you could only chose one place to visit, where would it be?

This is a really difficult question! I’ve never been to anywhere in Asia, so I guess I’d have to say somewhere like Bali, which has such amazing scenery, beaches, and culture.

3. What is your favourite dessert?

Again, such a difficult question, as I’m quite the dessert fan (dontcha know?). I think I’d have to go with a cheesecake, maybe honeycomb flavour, or a sticky toffee pudding (but no dates! Bleaurgh).

4. If you could have your own show, what show would you like to host?

This is going to sound strange, but I’d probably be best at hosting quite an intellectual, discussion-type radio show. It would be great to meet lots of influential people, and to discuss with them what they’re passionate about.

5. What do you usually order first at a restaurant, food or drinks?

Always drinks – I think that’s the way the waiter expects you to, but also because you then get a drink while you’re waiting for your food!

6. What is your guilty pleasure?

Food & shopping! I sometimes go slightly overboard when I go shopping, as I definitely prefer to go out and buy multiple things from places, and I can’t resist chocolate, or most junk food for that matter. Unfortunately, as I’m also a very fussy eater, most of the food I eat probably comes under the category of guilty pleasures, because very little of it is actually good for me! Oops.

7. Do you follow any fashion trends, or do you wear whatever you like? Which trends?

Not particularly – I’m a big believer in wearing what suits your own shape and style, rather than being a slave to trends which might not suit you. That said, if a trend comes along that does happen to suit me, I’m right on it. Oversized knits, tartan scarves, and sweater dresses anyone?

8. Are there any awesome products you have tried and would like to recommend?

A couple of my favourite products recently have been Smashbox Hydrating Perfecting Powder (which I did a review on here), Benefit Bad Gal Lash mascara (which is my all-time favourite mascara, I highly recommend it), and Aussie leave-in conditioning treatments, which smell divine and do wonders for your hair.

9. Do you do exercises regularly? What are they?

Because I’m at uni half the time, and at home for the rest, it’s very hard to keep up a routine. I enjoy going to classes, like pilates, but it’s not really possible in this kind of situation to keep it up. I do manage to go running, or do a cross-trainer session every once in a while, but my main source of exercise comes from playing hockey and football matches at the weekend, which I really enjoy!

10. What would you like to receive on your upcoming birthday?

Well, before my next birthday there’s Christmas (!!) so I’ll probably get most of my wish list for that! Aside from a few big things I’ll be asking for (a camera, and maybe a nice watch), I always love getting make-up and beauty products (I’m on the look out for some amazing bronzers, like the Nars Laguna Bronzer or the Benefit Hoola bronzer), and also books, because I love to read in my spare time.

11. If you had to cook dinner tonight, what would you cook?

This is easy – there’s only one thing that’s particularly special that I know how to cook well, and that’s chicken risotto. My boyfriend taught me how to make it, and it’s the only ‘proper’ thing that I have ever learnt to cook! Maybe I should get practicing on a few other dishes…

Phew! So that was a pretty long post anyway!

Seeing as I don’t really know anyone personally who blogs, I thought I’d leave this nomination open. For anyone who wants to, answer the same above questions (sorry, it’s very late, and I don’t have the will or the brainpower to think up new questions!), and link back to my blog and say that I nominated you! I’m sure there are lots of blogs out there that I’m yet to come across, which deserve the attention and the recognition of this award. So get answering! I’d love to hear from anyone who takes up the challenge!

  1. Thanks for taking your time to answer all my questions! 🙂 I really enjoyed reading them. It’s great to know I love food and shopping as much as you do. It’s also very interesting to read your answer to my question related to hosting your own show!!! 😉
