Nyx Picks

Another US-related post (sorry!) for you today. Although I didn’t really pick up any drugstore make up whilst I was in the US, I did pick up a few bits from Nyx in Ulta one day. In all honesty, there was so much more I wanted to try (and they had a buy one get one half price offer on), but at the time I was pretty intent on getting more of the high-end products I had my eye on. Plus, I’m pretty certain Nyx will be coming to feelunique.com soon!

I picked up two of the Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencils, and two Prismatic eyeshadows. The eyeshadow pencils are great, perfect as a base for powder eyeshadows, worn alone, or even as an inner corner highlight. The colour Yogurt is a shimmery browny pink shade, which looks gorgeous all over the lid. Iced Mocha is similarly shimmery, but darker and with less of the pink tone. The range of colours Nyx offer in these are great too, ranging from the infamous Milk pencil, through shimmers and brights, to the darkest shades.

I was also super excited to get my hands on some of the Prismatic eyeshadows, which are brilliantly shimmery metallic shades. After actually seeing these in store, I completely changed my mind on which colours I liked. The top eyeshadow, ‘Bedroom Eyes’, is a great dark brown, which I thought would be perfect for deepening the outer corner. The second shadow (although it doesn’t look too different in this picture) is Liquid Gold, which is a fantastic coppery-gold colour, is just beautiful, another shade which I love to wear across the whole lid. I did get these two, however, because I thought they’d be great worn together, which they are! They create a lovely golden shimmery multi-toned eye, perfect worn downplayed in the day and amped up for the evening.
