This arrived in the post earlier this week, and I can confirm that it is, of course, gorgeous. The packaging is exactly the same as Modern Renaissance and Subculture, just in a matte gold kind of shade. Not the prettiest colour, but as always with Anastasia its great quality. The eyeshadows themselves are really beautiful. Nowhere near as powdery as the Subculture, nor as colourful as the Modern Renaissance, there are a ton of soft browns, crease shades, and deeper defining browns. There are a…Continue Reading “[REVIEW] Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette”

This is a major throwback to the summer, but I wanted to talk about a couple of high-end makeup picks I’ve been loving over the past few months! Marc Jacobs Beauty is a relatively new discovery for me. This bronzer was part of the summer collection, and I just fell in love with the packaging. The product itself had great reviews too, so I thought I’d give it a go. Whilst I was there, I of course had to pick up the Dew Drops Coconut…Continue Reading “[THROWBACK] New-ish Luxury Makeup”

Sarah Perry’s second novel is seriously something else. It’s totally not something I would usually read, and I’ll admit that I was drawn in by the Waterstones special edition cover (it’s shiny and the pages are blue – what more could you want?!). I hadn’t read her first novel, but I have to say my expectations were high after the level of hype surrounding this book last year. This included being awarded the 2016 Waterstones Book of the Year award, winning both the fiction and overall…Continue Reading “[REVIEW] The Essex Serpent – Sarah Perry”

In light of the fact that my favourite book ever is Pride and Prejudice, and has been for a good five years or so, I thought it might be time to give Austen’s other novels a go. I wasn’t a fan of Sense and Sensibility (although loved the film, obvs) – I just couldn’t get into the story or sympathise with the characters. I’ve also read Emma, which I enjoyed the message of but again not necessarily the characters. So my next choice was Northanger…Continue Reading “[REVIEW] Northanger Abbey – Jane Austen”

With 20% student discount and a voucher to spend, how could I not splurge on a couple of new Nars products from ASOS??!! Although ASOS doesn’t carry the best range of make-up and beauty, it does have Nars, and a good collection of Nars at that. You might not get every single shade of eyeshadow or whatever, but they carry most products, and you get the free delivery over £20 as a bonus. The two products I went for were one of the new primers,…Continue Reading “New & NARS”

Sleek MakeUP seems to be taking the beauty world by storm. It’s affordable, good quality, and the packaging is so pretty! Now available almost anywhere that sells drugstore beauty, including Boots and Superdrug, Sleek has really expanded its target audience. I picked up these three palettes in a Boots offer a while back, and after having a go with some of the shades, I thought I’d do a little review and give you guys my thoughts on these. Probably one of the prettiest-looking eyeshadow combinations…Continue Reading “Brand Focus: Sleek MakeUP”

Welcome all to 2017! I know that a lot of people were REALLY looking forward to 2016 being over, and although I can empathise with making the most of the new year, a lot of great things happened in 2016 for me. 2016 was my first full year of being employed (yay!), and my first full year out of education (even if I am now studying for a graduate masters degree…). In November, Matt and I reached four years of being together, which was such…Continue Reading “Hey 2017!”

I bought the Benefit Oxygen Wow foundation on recommendation from my cousin, and as it’s the only foundation she uses I thought it must be good. It retails for £26.50 on, although I actually picked this up in duty free a couple of months ago, and I’ve only just got round to really testing it out and giving it a good full day of wear. As I’m writing this, I’ve actually worn the foundation for the last three days, including today. It’s been worn from around…Continue Reading “[REVIEW] Benefit Oxygen Wow Foundation”

I did one of these posts a while back, and considering that I’ve been spending a fair bit in MAC lately (both time and money!), I thought it was time for a second instalment. MAC does so many different varieties of cosmetics that I think there’s something for everyone, but there are those few products that I think will work for basically anyone and everyone. Here are a couple more that I’ve come across on my MAC adventures! First up has to be the Mineralise…Continue Reading “MAC Cosmetics Essentials (No 2)”

This is how I feel about the new ABH palette: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ If you were waiting for the big reveal on what my opinion was at the end, I’ve kind of ruined the surprise. Sorry not sorry! This palette is so pretty, so pigmented, and just generally impressive that I might just leave this post here…   Okay maybe not, because I really want to tell you guys about this palette! I’ve been wanting to get my hands on an ABH palette for ages, but I’ve always…Continue Reading “[REVIEW] Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette”
