At the end of May, I spent a Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday at Hay Festival in Hay-on-Wye. Despite my love for books, I’d not been before, and it was quite an experience! It’s huuuuge compared to other Literature Festivals, and much busier. There were possibly too many people… But understandable with the number and renown of the authors who were speaking. It is very well organised – parking was actually really good (always something I worry about!) and it was all under cover, which…Continue Reading “Hay Literature Festival 2018”

Onto the second part of our trip across the pond! We flew on to Austin, the capital city of Texas, from Newark on the 7th. It’s a really short flight, and something I love is that the time on your ticket is almost always longer than the actual time of the flight, meaning that it’s way shorter than expected! I’ve been to Austin many many times in the past, as my grandma has been living there since I was eight. It’s genuinely one of my…Continue Reading “This is… Austin, TX”

Over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, I spontaneously decided to completely redecorate my room. Just to put that in perspective, I’ve had the same wallpaper in my room, and really done nothing decorative to my room, since I was about 8. Yup. Who knew that I’d hate that purple and pink starry wallpaper after a year or two?! Anyway, I made the decision the weekend before, cleared out my room each evening after work in the week, and kicked everything off on Good Friday. I…Continue Reading “New Room Tour”

Why I haven’t got round to doing this post yet, I really couldn’t say. We went to Brighton for the weekend as it was my birthday, so we’re talking about 6 weeks ago now! As before, this is a bit of a mash-up post, a combination of diary entry and my recommendations for what to do and where to go if you’re ever in Brighton. Read on if you’re a fan of the staycation, the weekend break, or if you’re just a bit nosy! As well…Continue Reading “This is… Brighton”

Last weekend, Matt and I had decided on a weekend away in London. We’d booked the hotel, worked out parking, and arranged to meet up with friends. Of course, I ended up being ill, but we decided to go anyway. Despite not feeling my best, I still managed to have a good time, so here’s a bit of a throwback to what we ate, where we stayed, and what we bought! We parked up at Westfield in Shepherd’s Bush and went straight into the centre. After…Continue Reading “Capital Weekend”

I’m sat writing this on a lovely Sunday afternoon, sun shining in and curled up on the sofa, safe from the misleading cold of outside. The only downside is that I’m having to watch the football at the same time. Oh well! Keep reading to find out what I’ve been loving over the past week or two. 1. Pretty Honest – Sali Hughes My grandparents kindly got this for me for my birthday earlier this month, and I’ve been reading it bit by bit ever…Continue Reading “Five Favourites: 28th February 2016”

Since it was my birthday last weekend, as you might imagine I’ve had quite a few favourites this week! Mostly birthday presents of course. I had a fantastic weekend away in Brighton, and I’ve spent this past weekend with visiting family, which was great fun. Here’s my favourites for the past week or two, and a Happy belated Valentine’s Day to you all! 1. Brighton I absolutely love Brighton. I’ve now been 3 times since last year, and despite never going when the weather’s been…Continue Reading “Five Favourites: 15th February 2016”

I can’t quite believe it’s February tomorrow! Which means it will be my birthday really soon! Exciting 🙂 But seriously, January has gone scarily quickly. I find lots of people put extra pressure on themselves throughout the month, whether that be to make it a success, to stick to their resolutions, to diet and do lots of exercise. Don’t get me wrong, I’m definitely not against setting goals and being healthy, but for me personally I find this kind of behaviour just puts more pressure…Continue Reading “Five Favourites: 31st January 2016”

Welcome back to my first favourites of 2016! Seeing as I haven’t done a favourites post for over a month, the things mentioned here won’t necessarily be things I’ve been loving just in the past week, but also since Christmas and into the New Year. Enjoy! 1. Perfumes I am obsessed with perfume at the moment! Since Christmas, I’ve picked up three new fragrances, all of which I’ve been loving for different reasons. I’ve asked for one fragrance for my birthday, which is at the beginning of…Continue Reading “Five Favourites: 24th January 2016”

Christmas is so so so close now! I can’t believe that when I’m next doing my weekly favourites it will be after Christmas! Despite not being able to get into the Christmas spirit quite as much this year, I have of course enjoyed doing anything Christmas related, so here’s a rather festive themed favourites for you! 1. Christmas Jumpers 🙂 Yesterday we had Christmas Jumper Day at work, which was for charity. I wore this jumper from last year covered in christmas puddings (cuuuute!), and…Continue Reading “Five Favourites: 19th December 2015”
