The Autumn Tag

We’re definitely getting into Autumn now, and although we’re having the odd nice day, the temperature is dropping, the leaves are changing, and it’s getting darker earlier. This is the first tag that I’ve done on here, and I thought it would be nice to do a bit of a seasonal one to start off with, but I’ll definitely be looking into doing a few more of these!

1. Okay we’re talking coffees – what’s your favourite seasonal drink from Starbucks/Costa/Cafe Nero etc?

To be quite honest, and I hope I’m not offending anyone here, but I’m not a huge fan of the winter-y flavours of coffee which start cropping up this time of year. I once had a gingerbread latte (I think it was gingerbread) and it genuinely put me off trying anything else a bit different, especially because in places like Starbucks these drinks aren’t cheap! So I think I’d have to go with a safer choice, which would definitely be a vanilla latte, which is my all-time favourite coffee. Once it gets cold, autumn is also a great opportunity to enjoy a hot chocolate too!

2. Accessories – what do you opt for, scarf, boots, gloves?

I LOVE scarves, especially huge woolly ones! Tartan-y print scarves also seem to be very popular this A/W, and I’ve got plenty of those to wear too! I also always enjoy starting to wear boots, I have a great pair of brown lace-up boots, and a couple of cute black heeled boots, but they’re something I’ll definitely be investing in more as the days get colder!

3. Music – what’s your favourite music to listen to during Autumn?

Honestly, I don’t have any particular ‘autumn’ music, I tend to listen to a combination of old favourites and whatever I’m enjoying that’s popular at the moment. Of course, come November, it’s Christmas songs all the way!

4. Perfume – what’s your favourite scent this time of year?

So I know this is becoming my default answer, but again I don’t really change my perfume for autumn. My current perfume is ‘Lola’ by Marc Jacobs, which is a gorgeous smell, and it’s not too summery that it can’t be worn in autumn – so I’ll be sticking with that!

5. Candles – what scents will you be burning?

I really love Yankee Candles, they have a great collection of autumn scents, and even though it’s only autumn I love Christmassy scents like Cinnamon Stick and Christmas Eve. As a general calming scent at this time of year, a lavender scented candle is great for relaxing evenings in at home.

6. What do you love most about autumn?

Autumn and winter are two of my favourite times of year, although I think winter just wins out (because of Christmas!). But autumn is great, because it’s the beginning of everything exciting that’s to come, it’s a really beautiful time of year to be outdoors, the nights are getting darker which means cosy nights in, snuggly pyjamas, blankets, and lighting a fire in the hearth, and to top it off autumn is way easier to dress for! Jeans, boots, and comfy jumper, and maybe a cosy scarf, and you’re done!

7.  Favourite makeup look?

A lot of people say that they like to wear darker lipstick in autumn, but I don’t actually really wear lipstick, so I can’t say that! For me, autumn tends to mean holding back on the bronzer and going for a more fresh, no-make up look for my skin, and making eyes pop with metallic eyeliner and/or shadow, or perhaps a darker, smoky-brown look for the day.

8. What are you looking forward to the most in autumn?

Cosy nights in, swapping clubs for pubs (who really wants to stand outside in a queue for a questionable nightclub for ages in temperatures nearing zero degrees?), and making the most of my autumn wardrobe!

So that was my Autumn Tag. I wasn’t tagged to do this so I won’t tag anyone either, but it’s a great way to celebrate autumn and look forward to what’s coming up over the next few weeks!
