Finally, the Christmas Tag! I haven’t been nominated by anyone for this, but I thought it would be a fun thing to do on Christmas Eve! So, to the questions:
1. What are your favourite Christmas movies?
Strangely enough for someone who loves Christmas, I actually don’t tend to watch a lot of Christmas movies over the festive period. But I do have my favourites! Arthur Christmas is a recent one, and of course Elf. My all-time favourite is Miracle on 34th Street, which I’ve watched every year since I was about 10!
2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
Christmas morning of course! We’d never be allowed to open presents early. Saying that, my boyfriend and I did exchange gifts today, so I suppose that is technically opening presents on Christmas Eve, but it was only because we won’t be spending any of Christmas Day together.
3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
I very much don’t like change, and so my favourite memories of Christmas are from years and years ago when I was younger. After we had opened presents at home, we would go round to my grandparents’ house for the day (we still do now), and everyone would be there, my aunt, uncle, and cousins. It was always amazing, and I think part of the reason why I still get so excited for Christmas is because of how great my early Christmases were.
4. What is your favourite festive food?
I’m not actually a fan of most traditional Christmas food, like mince pies or Christmas pudding, so I’d have to say the abundance of chocolate around Christmas! I’m also a big fan of having cheese, crackers, and pickled onions.
5. What is your favourite Christmas gift?
I always get amazing gifts from my parents – they always make that extra effort.
6. What is your favourite Christmas scent?
I love all the smells of Christmas! Baking, gingerbread, cinnamon, Christmas dinner, pine trees, chocolate, everything!
7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
We help my grandparents prepare the vegetables in the morning, ready for Christmas Day. In the afternoon, a few of our family friends come round at some point, which is always really nice, and we exchange presents. For tea, we always have cheese and crackers (which I love), and that’s about it to be honest!
8. What tops your tree?
At the moment, it’s a slightly bedraggled angel, but I think it probably changes every couple of years.
9. As a kid, what was the one crazy or extravagant gift which you always wanted but never got?
I asked my mum about this, and she said she couldn’t think of anything, that I was always sensible and asked for things which I knew I’d get!
10. What’s the best part of Christmas for you?
Honestly, I love all of Christmas. But one of my favourite parts is when my brother and I go into my parents’ room first thing, and open the presents in our stockings. We’re almost definitely too old to still do this, but we do!
I hope that you’ve all had good Christmas Eves, and have lovely Christmases! I don’t know when I’ll next be posting, as I’ve been struggling to post every day during Blogmas, but I’ll be back soon!
